Digital Product Manager – Performance

ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Product Manager - Performance, reporting into the digital product organization, is primarily responsible for championing the digital strategy and overseeing development milestones of investment performance technology and related activities for NTAM. This role will partner with practices including Performance Measurement, Attribution, Accounting, Product, Marketing, COO, Investments, Data Office and Technology. Together they will develop and execute a strategic roadmap to build a world-class performance reporting and analytics data and digital capabilities, meeting NTAM’s current and future needs in prospecting, client servicing and internal management.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Product Owner Performance is primarily focused on the digital and strategic road map and execution of the  technology and data aspects supporting investment performance measurement, reporting and analytics. Responsibilities include:

Lead performance-related digital, system and vendor related initiatives to drive reporting and compositing capabilities across all of NTAM clients, accounts and funds.

Drive, participate and oversee existing and emerging proprietary or vended applications and data used for performance reporting and compositing, providing thought leadership on effective use of spend.

Develop the strategic roadmap for the performance measurement, reporting and analytics function, including digital and automation-driven transformation opportunities to achieve scalability

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to assess current state and architect future-state operating models, processes, capabilities required to successfully support evolving business needs and adopt digitization and automation solutions to drive excellence. Communicate roadmap in terms meaningful to both business and technology organizations.

Partner with Business Unit Manager to develop service levels with technology and data teams, establish a robust governance and control framework to ensure delivery of timely and accurate information, and monitor on-going effectiveness

Develop an intake framework for managing the pipeline of work to deliver the capabilities and growth of the production pipeline. Prepare monthly reporting Product updates to COO & Tech leadership.

Strengthen the first line of defense (1LOD) by instilling a culture of continuous improvement and robust policy and data domain documentation to reduce operational risk and drive operational excellence.

Lead development of new capabilities and improved cross-functional connectivity to effectively position performance and analytics for broader commercial use.


NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Digital product management expertise, strong technical and application understanding, and ability to collaborate in an agile development environment

Implementation and technical expertise around accounting and investment platforms, with a focus on performance modules

Detailed understanding of the investment management business, multiple asset classes and investment/financial technology systems within a large scale Asset Management setting

Highly skilled at identifying and unlocking new opportunities to deliver excellence in investment performance & reporting

Experience measuring & managing competing priorities to ensure delivery of initiatives across dependent platform & product to deliver investment capabilities

Dynamic relationship building and partnership skills; a strong collaborator with experience leading initiatives across multiple groups and stakeholders

Strong negotiation and vendor management experience

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to develop materials and effectively present to and persuade executive audiences

Experience in driving digital and automation-focused transformation to achieve economies of scale

Global outlook with sensitivity and awareness of social and cultural differences

Strong situational awareness and decision making capabilities

Experience with SQL or Python is strongly preferred

Background working in SaaS platforms such as Eagle Access & Aladdin including Aladdin Data Exchange (ADX) and Eagle Data Integration Services (DIS) strongly preferred


NECESSARY EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Bachelor degree; Master in Business Administration, CIPM and/or CFA strongly preferred.

At least 10-15 years of work experience in the investment management industry, with a demonstrated track record of leading the investment performance reporting and analytics function at a mid to large investment manager.

Proficiency with investment as well as reporting and analytic tools and databases

Track record of developing and driving transformation vision and agenda

Demonstrated track record of being able to deliver on Digital Investment Value within the framework of a project timeline/capital budget.
