HOW A WEB SERVER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Installation and Configuration: Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components.
● Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally.
● Monitoring and Performance Tuning:
Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues.● Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities.
● Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure.
● Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies.
● Collaboration: Work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation.
● User Support: Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries.
● Ticket-Based Support: Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction.
● Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions.
● Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks.
● Compliance:
Ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards.Maintain compliance with DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
● Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience, Hands-on experience with web server software such as Apache, Nginx, and IIS. Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
● Required Technical Skills:
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, SSL/TLS, and web security practices.Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning.Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly
● Required Skills and Abilities:
● Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
