Digital Signal Processing Engineer

Kratos has an opportunity for a DSP Engineer to support the development and testing of signal processing systems. This position will involve researching, designing, implementing, and testing software-defined signal processing algorithms to characterize and process RF signals for a variety of advanced applications. Responsibilities and Duties + Work with other engineers and with customers to perform requirements analysis/design tradeoffs and develop solutions in accordance with system/product architectures. + Engage in the design, analysis, and development of digital signal processing and communications systems algorithms + Support software engineering development to translate algorithm prototypes into optimized, production-quality code suitable for operational deployment + Contribute to the development of design documentation and other documentation artifacts + Help win customer confidence through integrity, technical competency, effective communications, problem solving, and capability demonstrations. + Perform other related duties as assigned Required Experience: + Must be a self-starter and able to work closely in a fast paced, cross functional engineering teams, including software engineers, DSP engineers, hardware engineers, systems engineers, and test engineers. + Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS with an SCI. + Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and or a STEM degree, with Education in digital signal processing, and or direct experience conducting digital signal processing (willing to consider a combination of education and years of directly related experience) + Software development skills and experience with languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python + Experience with modulation detection and characterization + Team player and capable of working in a fast-pasted, dynamic development, team environment Desired Skills and Experience + Satellite communications, geolocation, or other RF communications experience + Satellite communications specifically in modulation detection and characterization + Modulation and Demodulation techniques + Familiarity and experience with Linux operating systems + Familiarity with GNU Radio and Software Defined Radios (SDR) + Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker + Experience with common engineering lab and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. + Experience with Agile program execution methodologies + Master’s Degree in DSP + MatLab, statistical signal processing, embedded systems, FPGAs #LI-Onsite Competitive salary based on experience and education Salary Range: $100,000-$145,000 Kratos is valued for our ability to design and deliver leading edge, resilient solutions for aerospace communication, control, awareness and mission success across a continuum of offerings—from commercial to tailored custom solutions and integrated programs.
