An excellent university degree (PhD is a plus) in natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in data modeling, algorithm development, or data science roles.

Proven ability to navigate technology hype, identify and prioritize transformative applications for our group, and execute their development within agile squads.

Deep understanding of foundational and large language models, coupled with a vision and hands-on mindset to actualize ideas within ZEISS solutions.

Track record of successful GenAI-based applications, demonstrating the ability to deliver impactful solutions that drive business value.

Experience with best practices in model development and deployment, particularly using Azure Machine Learning Service and MLflow.

Strong background in software development (Python, Git, MS Azure DevOps) and familiarity with agile methodologies.

Experience with Industry 4.0 related development, demonstrating an understanding of its implications for business processes.

Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to comprehend customer needs and articulate complex technical concepts in operational contexts.

Strong results orientation, along with strategic and conceptual thinking capabilities.
