To strengthen UCB Digital Technology department, based at the HQ, in Brussels, Belgium we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Digital Technology Lead, AI for Clinical Development.
As Digital Technology Lead, AI for Clinical Development, you drive global strategy for technology and AI adoption in the UCB Clinical Development space (Patient Evidence). You manage programs and platforms to digitally transform clinical development using advanced technologies like GenAI, AI, machine learning, and automation, creating future-ready internal platforms.
Your role spans multiple functional areas, ensuring alignment with teams like Global Clinical Development, Biometric Quantitative Sciences, Global Regulatory Affair. You provide insights into technology, architecture, and roadmaps, ensuring timely, GxP-compliant deliverables while fostering stakeholder collaboration to realize impactful solutions.
Responsibilities include financial estimation, budgeting, and vendor contract management in partnership with I2I, Procurement, and Legal. Your contributions help UCB deliver enhanced solutions, improve patient outcomes, and achieve sustainable digital transformation.
What you’ll do
AI Strategy definition in the Clinical Development Space: Define and lead the digital transformation in the clinical development space in partnership with other DT leads and in alignment of the overall AI strategy for UCB. The position covers a transversal scope that span multiple Development Solutions teams programs (including but not limited to Global Clinical Development, Biometric Quantitative Sciences, Global Regulatory Affair)Project Implementation: Design, challenge, implement and innovate UCBs Clinical Development Tech portfolio. Ensure business case development and communication strategies for a broad group of stakeholdersCompliance, audit and inspection: Ensure defined technology within UCB complies as a safe, secure and compliant environment and associated regulations. Prepare inspections in collaboration with the DT compliance team and process data owner in the role of DT System owner for the defined applicable projects.Technology assessments and vendor management: Support the technology assessment during the scouting or new tech vendor selection. This includes the creation of project charter, business case, IAA assessments, supplier assessments, (IT) security assessment and other activities associated to the DSG process.Change management: Facilitate the seamless adoption of new technology and processes, integral to the digital business transformation, among pertinent stakeholders to ensure successful implementation. Act as a technical opinion leader on AI technology for a broad group of stakeholders.Deliver to Impact: Articulate the program's impact, gauge its effectiveness, and execute requisite changes to guarantee the realization of the intended outcomes. The impact is typically assessed in terms of expediting time-to-market, diminishing costs, enhancing data quality, or parameters derived from these indicators.
