Digital Telecom Architect– Job profile description
Role:
He/She will provide specialized engineering expertise in the frame of Digital Communication Telecom systems and Payload Solution definition in terms of design and analyses with particular focus on Digital system based on On-board Processing techniques, in all phases of a space project life cycle, from design specification to manufacturing, integration, verification phases, up to operations.
He/She will carry out design, analyses, dimensioning activities in the frame of new of Telecommunications solutions implementing ground-to-space and space to-ground communications at Radio Frequency (RF) and based on “On Board Processing Subsystem”, with the mail goal to achieve a full digitalization of the TLC products and solutions.
In addition he/she will coordinate, in support to Project Design Authority, systems engineering activities related to E2E and payload definition, design and realization, involving digital communications and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
To carry out architectural design and performance analyses and reports for new SatCom TLC systems implementing digital linksTo contribute to RD project and to support optical product developments, according to DTI roadmap goalsTo technically interact, coordinate and supervise optical subsystems/equipment design and development operated by industrial partnersTo plan and coordinate the whole validation activities of Digital SatCom system/subsystemExperience / Qualifications
Master’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related disciplines, with a specialization which includes telecommunication or electronicsKnowledge of digital links dimensioning and modulation needed.Knowledge of On board processing technologies and digital payload architectures neededKnowledge and experience in MATLAB is neededKnowledge and experience in Cyber Security is an assetKnowledge of QKD technologies and product is a valuable assetAt Thales Alenia Space we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
