What You Will Do:
The USDA Director will be responsible for managing and growing a diverse portfolio of federal contracts providing a wide range of Digital services. The Director will oversee ongoing USDA programs and work closely with Project Managers, architects and team members, serving as the primary interface between company and federal leadership across the portfolio. This position will also lead business development, capture, and proposal activities for a $300m+ pipeline of USDA Digital pursuits. The primary responsibilities for this role include (a) team leadership and development, (b) strategic planning and identification of growth opportunities (c) business development, including network development, strategic capture, proposal writing, and opportunity origination and pursuit, (d) project oversight and delivery, including supporting client’s IT modernization and transformation programs.
Additional responsibilities for the Director role include:
Provide strategic vision and planning across the portfolioGrowing Guidehouse’s digital technology practice at USDACollaborating with other Guidehouse Account leaders to set and execute growth plansEngaging with clients and external stakeholders to understand key challenges and needsDefining compelling solutions and value propositions aligned with clients’ needsLeading engagements and workstreams for large and complex projectsHiring, managing and mentoring on-site and remote staffOur team manages their own tasks and schedules while delivering high quality client work. Our team members must show considerable business and industry acumen and an acute focus on maximizing value for clients and building trusted relationships.
What You Will Need:
12+ years of experience in IT service delivery or related fieldsExperience managing large programs in the IT field or related area (USDA or Federal experience a strong plus)Expert knowledge of agile software development methodologies (SDLC) from planning and inception through implementation and post-production supportStrong professional network with USDA clients and within in the Federal IT industryProposal development experience including development of technical, management, and business volumesSolid verbal communication and narrative development skills, with the ability to summarize and convey key insights from analyses to senior audiencesExcellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; balancing strategic alignment with technology roadmap and emerging industry trends with practical deliveryWillingness to travel as the role requires up to 25%Requires ability to negotiate and compromise, and ability to communicate and influence senior executive leadershipBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
