The Digital Video Content Associate is tasked with production support of shows on ESPN-branded channels across social and digital platforms. This role requires knowledge of sports culture and digital media content creation. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and constantly innovating their approach to content technically, tactically, and creatively.
Responsibilities:
Edit high-end original longform and short form video content for ESPN’s digital platformsWork with talent to write and refine scriptsCreate graphics that stand out in a social/digital environmentConduct research in the media asset management system to obtain material for the preparation of production elementsResearch, write and communicate ideas for future content elements on ESPN platformsShoot video content in both studio and field environmentsProvide timely, accurate and complete delivery of multimedia elements, and publish to various platformsWrite titles and descriptions of videos, design thumbnail images, and add other elements in the publishing process, in order to maximize effectiveness of content on digital platformsProvide thoughtful and constructive feedback to team membersCapitalize on data to drive content creationCollaborate and communicate effectively both within the department and outside of itBasic qualifications:
Strong knowledge of sports, including current athletes, events and storylinesStrong video editing ability in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro. Proficiency in PhotoshopStrong storytelling skills, creativity and a passion for pitching and executing story ideas from ideation to publicationFluency in the YouTube mediascape and other emerging platformsMust possess demonstrated communication and organization skills, and ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of production situationsFamiliarity with ESPN programming and platformsPreferred qualifications:
Some experience with Adobe After EffectsVideo shooting experience, including lighting, camera and audioRequired education:
High school diplomaPreferred education:
Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, communications, journalism or a closely related field#ESPNMedia
