Dining Room Supervisor

Essential Functions
1. Develops a positive customer service culture in the dining room through team member training. Evaluates the quality of
service and develops systems to maximize the efficiency of meal delivery while maintaining a pleasant dining
experience.
2. Ensures team members provide service that maintains excellent resident experiences during mealtimes.
3. Circulates in the dining room to ascertain resident preferences and satisfaction with meals. Develops service systems that
follow the basic steps of service for front of the house dining.
4. Ensures menu items are prepared and presented in accordance with the high standards set forth by the Culinary Director.
5. Trains and coaches all team members in the Culinary Services Department in accordance with company protocol.
Performs all evaluations as needed with all staff to ensure that all work done in the dietary department is done
appropriately. Brings all performance issues to the Director of Culinary Services, Culinary Manager, or Executive
Director and takes appropriate action.
6. Schedules team members to meet the labor budget allowed for the department and manages daily labor to control costs
against the budget.
7. Maintains a clean dining room. This includes all equipment, walls, table tops and bases, and chairs. Ensures linens are
changed as needed and tabletop condiments and salt and pepper shakers are kept clean. Communicates any outstanding
maintenance issues to the Maintenance Director.
8. Maintains oversight of tabletop set up and arrangement at the beginning and end of each meal period.
9. Ensures themself and any team members working with them conducts themselves in a safe manner and that unsafe actions
are managed in compliance with Safety Committee Standards.
10. Fosters teamwork with co-workers, shows initiative in overcoming obstacles, takes actions which assist others beyond job
responsibilities, and has a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
11. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with other leaders throughout the community to foster cross-departmental
collaboration especially for resident engagement activities that has F&B crossover.
12. Performs other duties as assigned or needed.


Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must have proven management experience and ability to manage staff. Minimum of one
year experience in food service preferred. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and other Special Requirements


Current Serv/Safe Certification required. Obtain/hold any local, state and/or county required food handling/sanitation licenses and/or
certificates. Must meet all health requirements, including TB. Must pass criminal background check. Must have compassion for and
desire to work with the elderly.

Use of basic equipment in the kitchen such as toasters, juice machines, coffee makers, etc.
