Dining Services Lead

Summary:

The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for the overall coordination of the Dining Services department in accordance with facility policies and procedures, departmental standards, and regulatory requirements. The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible to ensure that quality dining services are provided on a daily basis and that the department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Dietary Supervisor train new hire Dietary Workers and delegating tasks. Lead weekly meetings with Dietary Workers and provide ongoing development and training. Train Dietary Workers on food deliveries. Review team performance and provide feedback and suggestions during weekly team meetings. Observe patient food intake and report progress and dietary problems to dietician. Attend and actively participate in staff and Operations meetings and trainings. Prepare a major meal, following recipes and determining group food quantities. Supervise food production or service or assist dietitians or nutritionists in food service supervision or planning. Assist dietician in food selection, preparation, or menu planning, based upon nutritional needs and established guidelines. Analyze menus or recipes, standardize recipes, or test new product Staff schedule for all kitchen staff employees. Input Meal count sheets on smart sheet daily. Ensure maintenance of a clean and sanitized kitchen in compliance with all health codes. Ensure consistent monitoring of temperatures on all equipment. Ensure menus are followed and control food portions. Maintain organization in all storage areas. Take weekly inventory and place food orders for Corporate Food Service submission. Work with Corporate Food Service on distributing the food surveys. Other duties as deemed necessary.

 

Education, Experience: 

Experience in food or culinary services including healthcare facilities, restaurants, schools or similar environment required. Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred. Serv-Safe certified or be willing to obtain upon hire.
