Initiates and completes the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care and maintains follow-up communication with referral sources, families, patients and program staff to maintain a quality intake. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for hiring, training and coaching of Intake Staff and Receptionist. Establishes protocols for the Intake Department and Reception area. Assesses perspective patients for treatment, identifying psychosocial, mental health and medical issues to determine if patient meets admission criteria. Supervise Intake Coordinators and ensure that they are trained. Maintains daily census and provides assessment for appropriate intakes. Works collaboratively with the Call Center staff, Utilization Review staff, Nursing Staff and Physicians Continuously monitor and follow up on referral inquiries. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a supervisor in an admissions/intake department. Minimum 1 year of experience with substance use disordered patients or related mental health. Familiar with 12-step programs preferred.
