Reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is accountable for strategic leadership of the laboratory. Oversees a wide variety of administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the clinical laboratory and compliance with corporate policies. Responsible for the quality control program, quality assurance, and point-of-care testing programs within the clinical laboratory. Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates the work of the clinical laboratory and co-ordinates it with other areas of the hospital. Responsible for all personnel including hiring, discipline, conflict resolution, staff development, evaluation, and payroll. Assures the laboratory meets all regulatory requirements (CAP, AABB, JCAHO, CLIA, etc.)
Requirements:
**Education required:** BS Degree
**Experience required:** Minimum of five years of experience as a laboratory supervisor.
Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations.
Experience with departmental budgets, inventory logistics, instrument acquisition, and personnel and labor laws.
**Licenses/Certificates required:** 1. MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) or equivalent certification or registration.
