Direct Care Worker - Framingham, MA
The Direct Support Personnel (DSP) assists individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with the growth and development of interpersonal skills and Activities of Daily Living in the home, community, or residential setting. The DSP works directly with the resident and provides support for activities of daily living and adaptive skills, following the guidance of the resident/patient's Individual Service Plan. Details of the position include: + Location : Framingham, MA + Duration : 13 weeks to start, with the likelihood of extension + Setting : Group Home + Openings : 32 hours/week - Sun, Mon, Fri, Sat 8am-4pm OR 3pm-11pm + Salary : $21/hour ($22/hour if MAP certified) Position Description: + Conduct individual assessments + Support managers with MAP audits + Liaise with outpatient providers + Reconcile medication orders + Train staff on protocols/supportive protective devices + Attend internal meetings and treatment plan meetings + Assist with the day-to-day operations of a residential program for individuals with brain injury + Provide a safe living environment and interventions to maintain safety + Participate in the implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) + Support individuals in integrating into their communities and reducing stigma through education + Assist individuals with medical and physical needs + Support individuals in participating in activities, medical appointments, and maintaining meaningful family and community connections This is a 4-bed male program, with two ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) residents and two ABI/DMH residents. It is a hands-on program.
