Direct Hire Sr. Reinsurance Accountant

The Senior Reinsurance Accountant plays a key role in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to support management decision-making. This position ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and serves as a valuable resource for both internal and external stakeholders. A successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles to effectively evaluate financial reports and forecasts.
Job Overview:
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for U.S. and Canadian companies.
• Consolidate financials for U.S.-based companies and analyze general ledger accounts.
• Assist the reinsurance accounting team with preparing reinsurance schedules.
Reconcile and analyze general ledger and bank accounts.
• Strengthen internal controls through diligent documentation of responsibilities.
• Prepare income tax provisions for multiple entities.
• Conduct various financial analyses for internal and external stakeholders, including Contingent commission calculations, Regulatory schedules, Actuarial triangles, Escheatment processes
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in accounting
• Reinsurance accounting experience is a plus and is preferred
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Awareness of business trends/industry trends
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements
• Ability to travel to Oklahoma for training
