As the future of BlueOval SK, you will help lead the battery revolution by working alongside our teams as we build the batteries required for electric vehicle business excellence. 

Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.

Key Areas of Responsibility

BlueOval SK’s purchasing team is rapidly growing. We’re seeking talented procurement professionals capable of sourcing required components or service for business and partner with our parent organizations and suppliers.  The individual willing to take on the challenge of building something new and to proactively develop, communicate, and implement the best solutions will find an enjoyable and rewarding experience in this role. Key responsibilities include:

Raw Material Purchaser Procurement for Cell/Module:

Source the required materials based on Bill Of Material (“BOM “)for battery cell and modules from the designated suppliers not only in the US but globallyDevelop annual and mid-long term demand plans, procurement volume aligned with marketing plan.Manage global SCM management; conduct sourcing plan including materials’ inventory, quantities and delivery dates in conjunction with factory planMonitor suppliers to ensure on time deliveries to support manufacturing, materials within quality standard specifications, costs and discrepant materials are swiftly reconciledDefine and monitor 4M changes and manage the development schedule and the procurementManage supplier risk by ensuring continuity business plans are in place for potential unpreventable interruption to the supply chainManage and report procurement performance; objective plan vs. performance monitoring, status of savings, implementation planMange and report procurement risk related costs, deliveries and inventory issuePrepare & distribute & review & assess RFQ/RFP to and from the qualified suppliersFinalize contracts, terms and conditions, register supplier on purchasing systemIssue POs, verify invoices and perform Monthly closing ManagementSupport the optimization of core Purchasing processes and systemsEnsure all vendors have received and agreed to comply with our Ethical Sourcing policies.

General Requirements and CapabilitiesCommunicate with internal/external customers and cross functional teams to ensure assignments, objectives, cost savings and deliverables are on targetDemonstrated ability to report to work on a regular and consistent basis; and follow company policies and proceduresGet reports on key procurement/deliveries/results on a weekly basisResponsible for achieving, monitoring, and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)Confer with other staffs to coordinate activities in related departmentsCollect and voice opinions when the revision and/or establishment of new work procedures are neededPerform other job-related duties as assigned and report to Purchasing Lead or Purchasing ManagerStay up to date on industry trends and supply base

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s DegreeStrong responsibility, communications, interpersonal, leadership and computer skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and organization skillsEffective self-starter with multi-tasking experienceAbility to guide and influence at all levelsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications and Key Experiences2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience (experienced applicants)Experience in automotive/chemical/EV-related/production equipment industryExperience in data/market/indicator analysis and demand forecastingExperience in purchasing in a manufacturing environmentExperience in developing automotive parts and managing procurement as a buyer or SQEBi-lingual (English and Korean) is preferred but not required.
