Description
The Direct Service Professional, provides direct services to individuals with mental illness, substance abuse and co-occurring diagnoses in residential crisis stabilization facility. Works with other crisis stabilization team members, family members, other care givers, and community resources in providing services to clients. Provides general supervision, safety monitoring, and assistance with adult daily living skills to program’s clients. Completes general support tasks within the facility and provides transportation as needed.
Starting Hourly Rate: $16.94-Depending on Experience
Qualifications
Ability to assist with basic adult daily living skills, including some ability to prepare meals, and complete other daily maintenance tasks. Basic knowledge resources available in the community which can used to support individuals with SUD and/or co-occurring mental health diagnoses. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and oral) is required, as is the ability to respond rationally and reasonably in crisis situations. Working knowledge of information technology needed to complete job tasks. Ability to exhibit initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to facilitate psycho-education groups to assist client in meeting ISP goals. Knowledge and understanding of best practice treatment modalities for serious mental illness, intellectual and developmental, substance use and co-occurring disorders to include behavioral supports and interventions. Must possess a valid driver’s license (state of Virginia, unless otherwise approved by agency) with an acceptable driving record. Must maintain acceptable record throughout employment. (*Note - certain exceptions can me be made to the driving license requirements but must be approved by the Senior Director of Human Resources) Must have an acceptable criminal history background and child protective services check upon hire and maintained throughout employment; Must have acceptable drug screen results upon hire.Education/Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Experience working with individuals in a care giving role is preferred.
