Overview

Genesee Lake School, a MyPath company, is a nationally recognized employee-owned provider of educational, vocational, and therapeutic residential services.  These programs support adolescents, teenagers and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, and complex trauma.  Your work will help them live their best lives, all while carving a career path for yourself as an employee owner at MyPath.

To succeed in this role, you must show an understanding of the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve.  When you join our team, you will be enrolled in our training program designed to build the skills and confidence needed to meet your job requirements and build your career with us.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

Ensure safety and security, providing supervision at all times.

Instruct and assist students in carrying out their daily living activities, including self-care management and developing social, communication, and emotional regulation skills.

Assist in the classroom by providing guidance and acting as a role model for students.

Manage behavior of our students.

Demonstrate proactive, appropriate, and effective interactions with students while maintaining self-control during crisis interventions.

Must become a certified med passer, with ability to pass medication to the group home students.

Driver status with the company is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Must be least 21 years of age

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's in psychology, social work, or related field preferred

Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred

Must be available to work a schedule that will consist of both first and second shifts, every other weekend, double shifts, and a holiday rotation

A valid Wisconsin driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred

Schedule & Benefit Information

This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position that requires availability to work both 1st and 2nd shift, as well as alternating weekends, double shifts, and a holiday rotation.

Pay rate- $19-21/hour starting
