What You Would Do
Join MVLE, Inc. in Springfield, VA as a Direct Support Professional! In this vital role, you will mentor, train, monitor, and support individuals with disabilities to help them achieve their highest potential. You’ll provide tailored support that empowers individuals to transition into work and community settings, promoting meaningful, productive lives.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Supervisory Support and Training:
Assist Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) by providing training, coaching, mentoring, and transportation support. Teach work attitudes, employability skills, social communication, adaptive equipment use, and positive behavioral strategies in line with Virginia guidelines and MANDT protocol. Help new individuals transition smoothly into programs.
Reporting & Compliance:
Support DSPs in completing required reporting documents accurately. Audit sites for compliance with regulatory, procedural, and policy standards, including OSHA guidelines. Complete required licensing trainings and participate in ongoing professional development.
Learning and Curriculum Development:
Research, develop, and teach innovative, individualized, and group-based curriculums focused on employment and readiness skills. Provide hands-on training and coaching tailored to individual service needs.
Case Management:
Attend Person-Centered Plan and interdisciplinary team meetings for your caseload. Maintain consistent communication with families, guardians, residential counselors, and other team members to monitor and support overall individual progress. Coordinate schedules for group training and community outings.
Other Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned to support MVLE’s mission and ensure comprehensive service delivery.
You're A Great Fit For This Role If You
Have a Bachelor’s degree in human services, behavior management, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Bring at least two years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities, including training and documentation responsibilities.
Are experienced with Medicaid regulations, CARF standards, and the ISP process.
Demonstrate creativity and professionalism in developing and implementing individual and group curriculums.
Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with PowerPoint and virtual teaching technologies.
Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for driving company vehicles during outings).
Are a U.S. Citizen if assigned to a secure federal worksite.
Compensation
Salary/Wage: $17 to $18 per hour
