Direct Support Professional About the Position: YAI has an opening for a Direct Support Professional who is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of the individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities who reside in CCH Residential homes. This includes direct care of program individuals and implementation of individual program plans (IPP) and behavior plans (BP). Key responsibilities: · Establishing a secure, positive environment that nurtures residents' needs, self-expression, and housekeeping duties. · Delivering individualized training and care for residents in compliance with healthcare professionals’ instructions and other specific guidelines. · Advancing residents’ decision-making, productivity, and participation in a range of activities. · Promoting independence in daily activities, such as work, learning, and leisure. · Facilitate residents’ integration into the community's experiences and activities. · Maintaining knowledge of residents’ requirements. · Complying with the facility’s policies and procedures. · Maintaining documentation in compliance with internal and external procedures. · Provide adequate assistance with virtual/in-person educational experiences. · Flexibility in working additional shifts. · Operating facility vehicles in compliance with company policies and governmental statutes. Education and Experience: · High School diploma or GED · Experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities; prefer 3-5 years. · Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks · Must pass physical and complete TB testing. · A valid driver’s license & insured vehicle · Ability to pass and maintain required training such as CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, and Positive Behavioral Support Training · DSP I certification and II or obtain DSP certification within 90 days of employment · RBT certified or must be completed within 1st year of employment Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills - Willing to take initiative - Highly flexible personality type All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or status as a Vietnam or disabled veteran.
