ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter seeks a Direct Support Professional to join its Community and Family Services Department! Staff will work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, 1:1 or in a group, on skills at home or in the community. Skills may include menu planning and grocery shopping, safe food preparation and cooking, and laundry. Other skills may be community based working on socialization, money skills and budgeting.
Schedule/Hours
+ Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM. No evenings, weekends, or holidays!!
Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ One year documented experience with the population we support
+ Valid NY State Driver's License
Responsibilities:
+ One on One ratio
+ Provide the necessary therapeutic assistance and/or training to people living in a variety of settings, per their habilitation plan.
+ Ensure the implementation of the individual's Habilitation Plan utilizing as many appropriate resources as possible in their community.
+ Possess the ability to work effectively at various sites.
PAY & PERKS:
