This position is supervisory and has direct reports. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting functions supporting the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) segment, which operates across lines of business, including primary and special loan servicing, asset management, asset valuation and securitization process outsourcing / seconded staffing models. The candidate will be responsible for managing the recording of monthly commercial activity, the production of internal management reporting, as well as ensuring the effective design and operation of controls over financial reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

Manage the accounting team’s day-to-day activities, including revenue recognition, invoicing, and recording of operating expenses / accruals at the individual line of business level.Coordinate the month-end close process for CRE segment activities.Manage the preparation of the segment’s financial reporting packages and collaborate with FP&A to analyze periodic results in comparison to budget / forecast, as well as trend analyses.Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively, including upstream controls over complete and accurate ingestion of data in collaboration with Operations.Ensure accounting processes are operating effectively and efficiently, including reporting on Key Process Indicators to the Global Controller on a monthly basis.Manage accounting personnel across the Commercial segment.Coordinate with counterparts in Europe and offshore support in Asia.Assist with external audit requests.Assist FP&A with the preparation of the annual financial budget and periodic forecast updates.Ensure the segment’s accounts are compliant with the company’s accounting policies and US GAAP.Ensure working papers are prepared and readily accessible for review or audit, as needed.Prepare or supervise preparation of documentation for episodic transactions, as needed.Such other activities as may be assigned by your manager.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA preferred; or equivalent combination of education.Minimum of 15+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in a SVP level role or external equivalent.Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with 3+ years as a Controller, preferably with a company which had multiple lines of business operating in the commercial real estate industry.Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and ability to comprehend complex accounting processes.Working knowledge of financial systems (preferably Workday, OneStream or similar).Demonstrated experience collaborating with business partners and other corporate functions.Demonstrated experience managing direct reports and strong leadership skills.High attention to detail, with excellent organizational and project management skills.Demonstrated mindset focused on continuous improvement / process optimization.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a high degree of proficiency in Excel.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Experience with M&A activity, as well resulting integrations preferred.Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.Mix of public accounting and industry experience.

The annual full time base salary range for this role is

$150,000.00 - $235,000.00

Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies. All full time employees also are eligible to participate in various benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401K; in each case in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
