The job:
The Director, Accounts Payable, is an integral role within our Global Business Services organization which will lead and manage the accounts payable team in Budapest, ensuring accurate financial transaction processing. Key areas of focus will include developing strategic plans, optimizing processes, and implementing standard methodologies for operational excellence. The role will also lead and encourage a strong team and collaborate with a wide range of partners to achieve financial goals and regulatory compliance.
This role is office-based at our Budapest, Hungary site, with the flexibility to work from home 1 to 2 days per week. Some international travel will be required – up to 15% per annum.

What will you do?
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategy for the Accounts Payable function, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and financial goalsTeam Management: Build, recruit, mentor, and encourage the accounts payable team to achieve and support the vision and missionOperational Oversight: Lead and direct employees to ensure balanced goals are achieved (Employee, Financial, Compliance, and Regulatory)Performance Analysis and Improvement: Develop operating plans, analyze data, and collaborate with the team to understand performance and develop improvement plansChange and Integration Initiatives: Lead change initiatives and regional integration efforts to optimize structure and support growthProcess and Technology Optimization: Assess business processes, propose efficient technology solutions, and ensure maximum efficiency of business systemsCollaborator Communication and Relationships: Plan and communicate changes clearly, and establish key relationships with partners, support partners, and vendorsContinuous Improvement: Establish an environment of continuous improvement through analytics, feedback, benchmarking, and trainingBlocking Issues Management: Handle blocking issues and complex situations as neededSafety and Quality: Promote and maintain a safe and high-quality work environmentAd Hoc Projects: Support ad hoc projects to align with business objectives and goals
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree required - preferably in finance, accounting, or a business-related fieldExperience in leading complex organizations in a shared services environment (essential) with a strong technology and commercial orientationA seasoned Financial leader with proven experience of at least 5 years in Director-level and above rolesProven track record of leading and developing leaders in an Accounts Payable environmentAbility to prioritize and strategize business objectivesExperience leading virtual teamsProficiency in establishing, building, and developing relationships with business partnersAbility to plan work and work with a high degree of autonomyExperience of managing budgetsProficient in English (written and spoken); Hungarian a plus, but not essentialWhat’s in it for you:
