Director, Acquisitions Management

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds – flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month in one of the following Corporate Office locations: St. Petersburg, FL; Southfield, MI; Memphis, TN; Denver, CO.

Job Summary:
Oversee the Acquisitions Management Office and a team of technology professionals. Is accountable for strategic direction and successful onboarding of new businesses to drive revenue growth and/or improve efficiencies. Demonstrates knowledge of industry and technology to support department and firm goals, applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Deals with complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact where multiple options must be considered, analyzed, prioritized and validated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee all phases of the acquisition lifecycle including initial partnership and planning, solution design, implementation, validation and testing, operational hand off.
• Develop, reviews, and adjusts the IT acquisitions processes to minimize the firm’s risk exposure while balancing business objectives.
• Partner with Enterprise IT and Cyber Threat Intelligence teams to improve/create new acquisition onboarding capabilities.
• Support technical teams (e.g., engineers, architects, administrators, etc.) tasked with delivering complex technology initiatives.
• Service provider approach that fosters collaboration and demonstrates a team player mentality.
• Maintain high collaboration standards across IT teams.
• Run regularly scheduled work intake prioritization, retrospectives, project planning, technical design sessions and related team and stakeholder meetings.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of Raymond James technology stacks including, but not limited to network and security, communication services, storage, systems/data architecture, and various vendor tools.
• Interact with C-level/executives, business partners.
• Coaches and mentors staff, identifies training needs and creates development plans.
• Performs human resource management activities, including identifying performance opportunities and approving recommendations for remedial action, interviewing, and selecting staff.
• Research, recommend and implement initiatives to achieve strategic objectives as defined by Sr Leadership.
• Plans, assigns, monitors, reviews, evaluates, and leads the work of assigned staff.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

• Familiarity with wide breadth of technology stacks, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application products.
• Financial markets, products, financial advisory function, and investment process preferred.
Skill in:
• Preparing and delivering clear, effective, and professional presentations.
• Demonstrating strong communication skills in all aspects of role that influence individuals outside of his or her span of control.
• Articulating technical concepts in a way that is widely consumable and understood by non-technologists and senior leaders.
Ability to:
• Channel a genuine love of technology and a passion toward innovative technical solutions that protect Raymond James and its clients.
• Build strong working relationships with staff, stakeholders, and senior management.
• Navigate competing priorities in a rapidly changing landscape leveraging software/tools.
• Capable of context switching from technical analysis to program management and execution.
• Lead and inspire multiple technical functions with cross-enterprise responsibility to achieve ambitious goals.
• Analyze problem/situation to determine needs, wants, and goals.
• Identify and lead project teams, including planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating project activities.
• Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas, and problems are addressed.
• Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
• Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Education/Previous Experience:
• Minimum of a B.S. in MIS, Computer Science or related degree and ten (10) years of relevant experience including management or leadership experience or combination of education, training and experience.
• Financial services experience highly preferred.
