Sonrava Health is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel and Director of Compliance to join our team. The successful candidate will play a dual role in providing legal counsel to the organization while also leading and managing the company’s compliance programs. This role is critical in ensuring our organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards while mitigating risk and supporting business objectives.

Responsibilities

Legal Counsel:

Provide expert legal advice on health care regulatory matters, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other federal and state laws.Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.Advise executives within the company and work collaboratively with employees in various departments, including Operations, Marketing, Revenue Cycle Management, Human Resources.  Provide guidance and counsel related to the Company’s patient financing activitiesSupport mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other corporate transactions by conducting due diligence and advising on regulatory compliance.Provide legal support to internal teams, including operations, human resources, and finance, on day-to-day issues.

Compliance Program Management:

Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive corporate compliance program.Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and manage responses to inquiries or audits Monitor and interpret regulatory changes to ensure the company’s compliance policies remain up-to-date.Conduct internal audits and investigations related to compliance matters and prepare detailed reports of findings and coordinate mitigation activities when opportunities for improvement (audit variances) are identified.Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and leadership teams.Collaborate with Quality Management and Operations in designing processes that continually improve the quality and levels of care and delivery of service.Work with all Company departments to ensure company policies and procedures align with applicable laws and regulations.Lead Quarterly Compliance meetings, and all related reports and analyses Qualifications

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to at least one state bar is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, preferably in health care law, with at least 3 years in a compliance leadership role.Strong knowledge of federal and state health care regulations.Experience with health care services, managed care organizations, or health technology is highly desirable.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership and project management abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.Ability to balance legal risks with business goals and provide pragmatic solutions.
