Director, Alternative Investment Product Management
Job Description:

The Role

Since 2020, alternative investments through the RIA and BD channels at Fidelity have more than doubled in assets. As part of the Alternative Investment Product Team, you will help enable RIA and Broker-Dealer clients access to alternative investment strategies and to grow our leading platform, which consists of both Fidelity and unaffiliated third-party funds.

Knowledge of alternative investment strategies and structures, including private equity, real assets, credit, hedge, and liquid alternatives

Experience within the private wealth channel including the Registered Investment Advisor and/or Independent Broker Dealer channels

Outstanding product and project management skills

Experience managing day to day aspects of business-to-business relationships; Experience working with asset managers and technology platforms is a plus

Collaborating with internal business partners to develop product strategy and support the launch of new products, solutions, or capabilities

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or progress towards is a plus

10+ years’ experience in the financial services industry including product management, relationship management, sales, strategy or marketing capacity

Work collaboratively across Fidelity and possess strong influence management skills while maintaining productive long-term working relationships

Knowledge of investment products, particularly alternative investment strategies

Understanding of how wealth managers identify investment opportunities and transact in alternative investments

Ability to develop relationships both internally and externally

Effective communicator able to use influence to align stakeholders and drive positive outcomes

Comfortable engaging with clients and relationship management teams

Identifies opportunities to introduce new ideas or processes

Comfortable working on multiple tasks and projects

Knowledge of the RIA and Independent Broker Dealer market

Maintains understanding of trends in the industry and shares key insights with internal stakeholders

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Series 7 preferred, but not required

The Team

The Alternative Investment Product team owns the product and platform solutions made available to Fidelity RIA and Broker Dealer clients and has shared responsibility for supporting the growth of Fidelity’s own alternative investment capabilities. The role will work closely with key business partners to execute the platform strategy, supports day-to-day relationships with third party platforms, and will help efforts to launch Fidelity’s proprietary alternative investment capabilities. Internally, the role will work closely with Product, Operations, Go-to-Market, Risk, Legal and client-facing teams.

The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$169,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
