The Director of Alumni Engagement plays a significant role in strategizing, leading and driving alumni engagement efforts for the Leeds School of Business. This position supervises a team of three to five full-time employees to engage alumni and other constituents, promote the reputation of the Leeds School, and increase philanthropy for CU Boulder. Reporting to the Managing Senior Director of Development, the Director of Alumni Engagement will bring visionary leadership and expertise in alumni relations and higher education to inspire confidence and drive impact. Our Leeds team thrives on the energy, passion and school pride that comes from daily interactions with students, alumni, volunteers, and corporate partners at Leeds and across campus. This position will lead the strategy to significantly engage our constituents in innovative ways, across a variety of platforms. The Director will lead, empower, and engage a high-performing team that will serve as a key point of connection with our alumni-motivating them to serve as ambassadors, advocates, and contributors. As Leeds embarks on its first-ever campaign, the Director will be instrumental in positioning the school for unprecedented success, building innovative engagement strategies that elevate the alumni experience and advance the mission of the Leeds School of Business. The Director will focus on: + Leading a Strategic Vision: Developing and implementing a best-in-class strategic plan for alumni engagement, using innovative business school initiatives, and empowering a team to implement execution plans effectively. + Fostering Meaningful Connections: Creating dynamic opportunities for alumni and the broader business community to engage with Leeds through diverse platforms, while cultivating a culture of lifelong connection, philanthropy, and engagement that begins with current students. + Strengthening Partnerships: Partnering with internal stakeholders-including the dean's office and cabinet, academic leaders, and campus entities-and external constituents such as board members, alumni, volunteers, donors, and corporate partners. These collaborations will develop professional opportunities, important partnerships, and a strong network that benefits current and future alumni and the business community. + Aligning and Elevating Annual Giving: Collaborating closely with campus partners to align annual giving efforts with Leeds School priorities, driving innovation and excellence to position Leeds as a leader in alumni and annual giving programs. Accountability for the division's commitment to these values is established through specific individual and team goals that evaluate progress and growth. **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be** **Alumni Engagement Strategy and Execution** + Lead and manage implementation of strategy to engage, cultivate and involve constituents, especially alumni, in ways that support the school's vision and strategic direction. + Supervise Leeds advancement events to ensure they are consistently representing the school's standards of excellence, while serving as impactful platforms for alumni and constituent engagement. + Collaborate with the Leeds Marketing and Communications team to create and deliver campaigns that support alumni engagement goals, including storytelling initiatives, alumni profiles, podcasts, video series, newsletters, the annual alumni magazine, and event promotions to inspire pride and enhance alumni visibility. + Propose and implement strategic/innovative solutions to currents projects for streamlining, project flow, etc. + Propose, collaborate, and pilot new projects as needed with feedback loops from alumni to refine engagement efforts, ensuring the program remains responsive to alumni needs and interests. + Guide online engagement, communications and annual giving efforts as well as several, high-impact annual events. + Provide leadership and strategic direction for the GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) and MBA Advisory Board volunteer programs, ensuring their efforts align with the school's vision and goals. Offer guidance and support to staff members who serve as primary liaisons to these groups. + Partner with and involve deans, directors, faculty, and students, locally and across the globe as part of outreach efforts. + Identify, promote, and support opportunities to celebrate and recognize alumni and volunteers. Examples include alumni awards, alumni publications, community and business awards, etc. + Work closely with Advancement leadership to source and engage alumni in fundraising opportunities and create a culture of philanthropy. + Identify and implement new alumni engagement opportunities to reach different constituents, including educational, service, family, etc. **Team Management and Leadership** + Complete all aspects of managing and leading a team of individuals responsible for alumni engagement, events, board engagement. Examples include: + Provide coaching and mentorship, especially to new team members. + Carry out administrative personnel actions (performance management, hiring, training, onboarding, offboarding, etc.). + Set the overall direction for the team engagement activities annually. This includes defining success metrics, setting goals and developing processes for metrics reporting. Keys to success include leading the team to develop priorities and schedules prior to the beginning of the new fiscal year, being clear on roles, responsibilities and expectations, setting overall timelines and providing the needed processes to support the staff work. + Cultivate an environment that encourages creativity and innovation, empowering the team to experiment with new engagement strategies without fear of failure. + Be responsible for the team's budget and ensure alignment with strategic priorities, optimizing resources to improve impact. **Other Duties as Assigned** + Attend and be an influential member of the campus community of alumni directors across campus to share information, discuss standard processes and identify potential partnerships and joint initiatives. + Work with CU system, CU Foundation and CU Boulder Advancement staff to assist with the effective identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors to the Leeds School of Business. + Meet annual engagement metrics. **What You Should Know** + This position will occasionally be required to work evenings/weekends. + This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote. + This position may require local, regional, and out-of-state travel to engage with university constituents. **What We Can Offer** The salary range is $107,814 - $130,000 annually.
