Job Description Summary

The Director of Americas Payroll will provide strategic and operational leadership, overseeing all aspects of Americas payroll administration, design, implementation, and communication. The Americas payroll environment encompasses several different countries, cycles and systems utilizing Workday, JDE and various third-party payroll vendors. The position is responsible for leading and driving the continuous improvement of all payroll services, ensuring tax and legal compliance, and governance of all payroll activities. This role must build and maintain relationships across multiple centers of excellence within the region and globally. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Global Payroll.

Key Responsibilities
 

Lead all aspects of people management fostering a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and excellence.Empowers managers to implement and maintain standardized payroll processes and policies to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.Drive process and risk excellence with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance service delivery and employee satisfaction.Provide leadership necessary to resolve complex issues and triage escalations to senior management.Define strategy for payroll audit and controls and direct team to implement those strategies to ensure compliance with SOX controls. Collaborate with HR Operations, Accounting, Finance, Audit, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of payroll shared services with broader organizational goals.Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to support the payroll shared services function.

Qualifications And Skills Requirements
 

Bachelor’s degree with 10-15 years of relevant experience in Payroll with a major focus on the Americas payrollProven experience leading large complex teams, building great cultures, working with a shared service model.Demonstrated ability to build and manage a highly effective risk and control environment; SOX experience required. Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate payroll-related information to employees, management, and stakeholders.Accountable for quality, accuracy and timeliness of results and overseeing complex issues with a sense of urgency.Experience in building payroll operating models, including system implementation and service delivery.Possess key critical thinking skills with the ability to work through complex issues and recommend effective solutions.
