Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.  If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

• Broad knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory and industry requirements, and standard concepts, practices, and procedures as they relate to the group insurance industry

 

• Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement, and maximize the expenditure of funds while maintaining and improving quality standards

 

• Knowledge of employee relations to conduct and deal with employee issues proactively

 

• Demonstrated ability to apply operations management and business process re-engineering tools and techniques to a wide variety of business situations

 

• Strong project management, leadership, and practice development skills

 

• Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management and internal and external contacts

 

Education & Experience Required

Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Accounting, or related field 10 years of professional job related work experience, 5 years management experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Assume overall responsibility for leading team responsible for the billing strategy of dedicated client accounts. Drives billing service strategy and manages day-to-day billing service delivery team; builds and maintains relationships with customer billing contacts, sales team and within the sales community as a company representative and billing expert; develops innovative and creative approaches to service customers and making the billing experience seamless; identifies and assists with recruitment of billing coordinators.

 

• Develops and implements billing services strategies to support the sales force in the acquisition of new accounts through relationships developed with brokers; manages a team that provides billing services to accounts; designs and executes billing service strategies, in conjunction with management; strives to maintain and consistently enhance Aflac’s competitive position in the marketplace.

 

• Develops and implements strategies relating to ease of billing services and quality service; assists with the strategic planning of billing service and execution; assists with the strategic planning for client billing strategies for assigned clients; maintains productive working relationships with the sales team.

 

• Maintains an expert’s knowledge-level over a complete line of products/services and clients’ issues and needs; uses professional skills and concepts to solve a variety of clients’ problems; directly manages the service relationship for assigned clients.

 

• Assists with the execution of long- and short-term service strategy to maximize sales with optimum return on investment; collaborates with internal departments to develop and implement communication and servicing approaches that positively impact sales and marketing activities among brokers in the various regional markets; strives to maintain and consistently enhance the Aflac’s competitive position in the marketplace.

 

• Contributes to training programs for brokers and Aflac sales team; assists with the design of communication strategies and works with the Marketing division to deliver effective communications to the broker community.

 

• Ensures coordination with other departments, effective service to the field force, and consistent customer service to policyholders; relies on extensive group and billing experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; acts as a catalyst and motivator for developing new programs and services, as well as reprioritizing existing resources to support strategic initiatives; leads key management activities and committees.

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $260,000.
