We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Brand Strategy to lead the development of innovative, high-impact sponsorship solutions within the sports sponsorship industry. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for driving strategic brand narratives that leverage LEARFIELD’s diverse portfolio of digital platforms, traditional assets, data, and content. You will spearhead the creation of integrated sponsorship strategies that deliver measurable outcomes for brands while fostering premium, property-focused opportunities. As a key leader, you will collaborate across teams and engage with senior stakeholders to shape and influence the future of sponsorship initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Brand Vision: Define and lead the overall strategy for sponsorship brand storytelling, ensuring alignment with client objectives, market trends, and organizational goals. Provide visionary leadership that elevates sponsorship narratives and positions LEARFIELD as an industry leader.Strategic Brand & Sponsorship Development: Lead the assessment of client brand insights and objectives to develop comprehensive, brand-aligned sponsorship strategies that leverage LEARFIELD’s full suite of digital platforms, traditional assets, data, and content. Serve as a senior advisor, translating complex needs into innovative, integrated solutions that drive engagement, deliver impactful results, and position the organization as a thought leader in sponsorship innovation.Executive-Level Presentation & Communication: Oversee the development of executive-level presentations and premium opportunity decks, ensuring a strategic narrative that articulates the value of sponsorship proposals clearly to senior stakeholders. Deliver high-impact presentations that strengthen client relationships and secure key partnerships, including to clients directly as desired.Leadership in Premium Opportunity Development: Spearhead the development of high-value property and premium opportunity decks, clearly defining value propositions and unique selling points that resonate with top-tier brands and partners.Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Act as a senior leader across cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with sales, creative, research, Digital, and operational units to ensure that sponsorship strategies are suggested in practical and deliverable ways. Provide direction, mentorship, and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.Innovation & Thought Leadership: Serve as a key driver of innovation within the organization by identifying new sponsorship trends, technologies, and opportunities that can be leveraged to create cutting-edge solutions. Represent the organization in industry forums and thought leadership initiatives.Market & Consumer Insights: Lead the analysis of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to refine and optimize sponsorship strategies. Ensure that brand storytelling evolves with market dynamics, keeping LEARFIELD ahead of the curve in the sponsorship space.Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in brand strategy, sponsorship marketing, or related fields, with a proven track record in developing and leading high-impact sponsorship strategies.Senior leadership experience, with demonstrated success in driving strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable business outcomes.Development of sales materials and/or client pitches around premium assets, including high value items such as on field or on court logos, jersey patches, court aprons is a huge plus.Expertise in brand storytelling, strategic ideation, and sponsorship activation, with the ability to translate complex brand objectives into actionable sponsorship platforms.Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with experience delivering executive-level presentations that resonate with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives.Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and align sponsorship strategies with broader business goals, including revenue growth and market positioning.Proven ability to innovate and adapt to evolving market trends and consumer behaviors, driving sponsorship strategies that remain competitive and forward-thinking.Experience integrating digital, traditional, and content assets into comprehensive sponsorship solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and lead diverse teams while working effectively across departments to execute cohesive sponsorship strategies.Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Learfield offers a full spectrum of benefits for eligible employees including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance and Other Insurance Plans, Flexible Paid Time Off (including Parental Leave), Paid Holidays, 401(k), and Short/Long Term Disability.
