The Role
The Director, Alternative Investments, is a highly strategic and influential role within the organization, focusing on alternative investments. This position requires a blend of leadership, risk management, and operational expertise to drive the business forward. Here are some key aspects of the role:
Policy Communication and Risk Management: Ensuring that company policies and legal guidelines are efficiently communicated and implemented to minimize risk.Leadership and Team Dynamics: Leading and inspiring management teams, encouraging an environment of continuous improvement, and building trust across the business.Decision Making and Collaboration: Making tough decisions that positively impact the organization and developing strong business partner relationships.Strategic Direction: Translating the broader organization’s business plan into operational priorities and aligning resources to implement the plan.Operational Performance: Influencing beyond direct span of control to drive performance and holding groups accountable for results.Resource Efficiency and Innovation: Establishing plans that drive resource efficiency, innovation, and sustainable quality.Relationship Building: Crafting and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, including key clients and business partners.Expertise and Skills:
5+ years of related operations management experience, preferably in alternative investments.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Strong people management and developmentLicenses Series 7 or 99 license (or within 90 days of hire).Excellent written and oral communication skills.The Team:
The team is responsible for managing over $70B in customer assets and focuses on asset review, onboarding, reconciliation analysis, and maintenance processing.

Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Having the majority of our associates work onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture.
