Job Summary
To lead and oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive governance strategies, risk management practices, and quality assurance processes for the new channel. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, establishing best practices in sales ethics and channel conflict management, and driving a culture of ethical business conduct. The position involves collaborating with senior leadership to integrate governance principles into overall business strategy, managing relationships with external regulators, and innovating solutions that balance compliance with business growth objectives. Additionally, the role requires leading cross-functional teams, overseeing policy development, and contributing to long-term business planning with a focus on governance and quality assurance in the context of rapid business expansion.
Strategic Governance and Compliance Leadership
Develop and implement comprehensive governance strategies to ensure the new company's compliance with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
Lead the establishment of best practices in sales ethics and channel conflict management.
Collaborate with C-suite executives and senior leaders across departments to integrate governance principles into overall business strategy.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance Oversight
Direct the design and implementation of robust control mechanisms (i.e. agency recruitment guidelines and procedures) to identify and mitigate operational risks.
Oversee the development of sophisticated monitoring systems to detect suspicious business activities.
Carry out regular audit and sample test to ensure full compliant of the recruitment process.
Lead high-level investigations and make critical decisions on complex cases of suspected advisor misconduct.
Monitor the agency practices under Agency Market Conduct, Sales Process (Needs Based Selling), Recruitment and Training, Business Operating Rules (BOR) and Agency Operating Guidelines
Responsible to drive CPD progress on the right track.
Regulatory Relations and Policy Development
Serve as the primary liaison with external regulators, representing the company in high-stakes discussions and negotiations.
Drive the development and regular update of key policies, including recruitment guidelines, compensation structures, and complaint handling procedures.
Provide expert guidance to the management team on regulatory trends and their potential impact on business operations for development the compensation structure, financial packages and agreements.
Cross-functional Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of senior professionals across various quality assurance functions.
Foster collaboration between QA, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, and Sales teams to ensure a cohesive approach to governance.
Drive cultural change to embed ethical practices and compliance mindset throughout the organization.
Strategic Business Partnering and Innovation
Partner with business leaders to develop innovative solutions that balance regulatory compliance with business growth objectives.
Lead strategic initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA team in response to rapid business expansion.
Contribute to long-term business planning, ensuring that governance and quality assurance considerations are integral to the company's growth strategy.
Job Requirements
University degree, preferably in legal or compliance
Over 15 years of experience in compliance and risk management within insurance industry with solid understanding on the operations, management, culture and sales practices of different sales channels
Possess expert knowledge on the guidelines and requirements of HKIA with strong understanding best practices and market conduct to effectively frame and resolve agency risk management issues
Strong business acumen, problem solving and analytical skills
Strong influencing and communications skills with proficiency in both spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua
Demonstrated effective project management skills, preferably in insurance industry
Insurance based qualifications such as FLMI, CFP also beneficial
