The organization coordinates efforts in AI/ML and mixed reality across each of the Walt Disney Company’s business segments to enable value and drive business outcomes.
We are looking for a Director, Business Development to lead business development planning and strategy for Office of Technology Enablement (OTE), a new team that focuses on AI and XR technology to support The Walt Disney Company’s operating segments. This high-visibility opportunity is ideal for an individual who wants to help determine the best strategies that leverage AI and XR to drive evergreen value to Disney through collaborative external partnerships. In this role, you will work closely with x-segment executive stakeholders to conduct market analyses and recommend data-driven strategies to explore new growth opportunities and deliver impactful results.
Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Planning
Lead the development of strategies to maximize the use of AI and XR at scale.
Develop business models and cases to identify, present, and guide new business opportunities.
Collaborate with business segment leaders to make recommendations and translate identified opportunities into go-to-market plans.
Support the implementation of new business initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations and processes.
Build a framework for incubating new experiences, assess ROI, and iterate with partners to advance a long-term vision in line with segment objectives.
Market Intelligence and Opportunity Analysis
Constantly analyze the AI and XR landscapes and emerging technology trends.
Conduct and manage in-depth market research, financial modeling / planning, and competitive analysis.
Leverage insights to identify gaps and recommend new business growth and strategic partnership opportunities.
Strategic Partnerships Methodology
Establish and optimize a strategic partnerships engagement model, including technology partners, industry leaders, and research institutions.
Define best practices to identify and recommend new markets and partnership opportunities.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant work experience in enterprise technology, investment banking, strategy consulting, finance, corporate strategy, venture capital, or business development.
Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering persuasive, high-quality presentations to senior leadership.
High technical fluency in immersive storytelling utilizing XR, with the ability to understand a variety of technical products and determine the best way to apply them to drive business value.
Excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Superior business acumen, with experience in building financial models and a proven ability to drive revenue growth and profitability.
Ability to incorporate data and insights to communicate sophisticated concepts and ideas visually.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $182,700 to $245,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
