Overview This is a hybrid role - 2 days remote and 3 days in the Malvern, PA office. The Director of Business Insights position is responsible for a centralized, structured management of business insights. This role emphasizes fostering a data-driven, scientific culture by advocating for data-driven approaches and evidence-based decision-making. It aims to integrate rigorous statistical analysis and reliable data into the company’s core processes. Additionally, the role promotes a strong storytelling mindset and enhances capabilities in visualizations and dashboards, ensuring that insights are not only accurate but also effectively communicated and easily understood. The role is responsible for providing organized and accessible data insights, supporting informed decision-making and strategic initiatives, and supporting the analytical needs of internal partners such as Marketing, Operations, and Revenue Management. Responsibilities Business Insights and Advanced Analytics Proactively identify opportunities to use data to enhance all areas in which the company operates and invests, including but not limited to pricing, marketing, customer interactions, operations, and the identification of self-storage acquisition/development opportunities. Oversee a team of analysts in using data and statistical methods to analyze past operations and suggest improvements for future business performance. Create and maintain a roadmap for delivering high-impact insights to internal stakeholders. Promote the use of scientific methods, including hypothesis testing, controlled experiments, regression testing and rigorous statistical analysis as methods to inform and improve business operations. Business Relationship Management Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs and provide tailored analytical solutions and proactive business insights. Act as a trusted advisor on business data, analytical techniques, visualizations, dashboard design and usage, and related best practices. Leadership and Mentorship Clearly communicate and execute the strategic vision for the BI function, including processes, tools, team structure, roles and responsibilities, interaction models, etc. Lead business analysts in proactively identifying valuable business insights and in the requirements gathering, design, and development efforts for BI deliverables. Coach and mentor analysts on best practices, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives. Promote a data-driven, scientific culture throughout the company by advocating for data-driven approaches and evidence-based decision-making. Increase data literacy across the organization through education and awareness initiatives. Thought Leadership Act as a thought leader in analytics, helping internal clients define their business problems and create data products to address them. Plan and execute the implementation of analytical solutions that drive business value and strategic decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, MIS, Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of data science and statistical methods. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply knowledge of key business principles, including finance, economics, marketing, sales, and operations, to drive strategic insights and recommendations. Ideal candidate has experience conducting deep-dive marketing analysis to derive actionable insights and make data-driven recommendations for improving marketing effectiveness. This includes knowledge of web-based analytics using adobe or google analytics. Deep understanding of advanced analytics techniques, including predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis. Proficient in translating company-level goals to KPIs and metrics to foster data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis software (e.g., Python). Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
