This is a role where you will be able to grow your expertise through consistent challenges with the backing of passionate leaders who will value your contributions and encourage your development.

Schwab is building out a Transformation Management Office (TMO) to accelerate large, cross-enterprise transformation across the firm.  This organization partners closely with teams across Schwab to support all facets of transformation, from identifying and prioritizing opportunities, to implementing and executing transformation programs, to evolving skillsets and mindsets.

Within this TMO, we are standing up a cross-enterprise Scale and Efficiency Program to drive the next several years of investments in “win-win” initiatives that improve client experience and manage future cost growth.  To that end, the TMO is seeking to hire a Director of Business Transformation to lead the Scale and Efficiency Program on behalf of the TMO and the firm.

In this dynamic and high-impact role, you will work both “broad and deep” across both “strategy and execution.”  Key responsibilities:

Build relationships and work across the firm to identify, pressure test, prioritize, and execute against 10+ scale and efficiency initiatives each yearDesign and manage a multi-year roadmap that carefully balances several strategic needs (e.g., address what matters most to clients, generate a consistent return of cost savings, ensure “long-pole” multi-year transformation work is started at the right time)Establish and run governance to oversee all investments related to Scale and Efficiency, some of which are run in a “federated” model (e.g., more directly owned by individual enterprises) and some in a “centralized” model (e.g., run out of the TMO in collaboration with several enterprises)Proactively identify where initiatives or teams need additional support and evolve your team’s role to go deeper into those needs (e.g., facilitate alignment and decision making, stand tallest for specific initiatives where needed)Establish mechanisms to measure outcomes, in close collaboration with Finance, Analytics, and Enterprise partnersFoster a culture that rewards collaboration, execution quality and accountabilityDrive program communication with all stakeholders, ranging from working teams to executive leadershipBuild expertise and familiarity around Scale and Efficiency topics for the firm (e.g., ranging from understanding client experience friction points that drive service calls, to artificial intelligence tools, to the bottlenecks that can challenge execution)Build and lead a team to support all of the above

This role has significant growth potential.  Your scope will grow and evolve as the TMO continues to grow.  In addition to your core responsibilities leading the Scale and Efficiency program, you and your team may also support other work in the TMO, such as Workplace Financial Services Transformation
