Director, Business Unit Digital Engagement Team

Job Description

The Director, Business Unit Digital Leader (BUDL), is responsible for providing leadership and managing the Campaign Development Leads (CDLs) aligned with the Customer Agile Teams (CAT) within the Business Unit.  The BUDL will also be responsible for ensuring the effective development and deployment of digital content and campaigns for the brands within the Business Unit he/she supports.  The Director will be responsible for balancing priorities and resources across all brands within that Business Unit.  This role will report to the Executive Director, Digital Customer Engagement Organization and will be a member of the Executive Director’s leadership team.

Key responsibilities and competencies include: 

Leading a team of CDLs, responsible for hiring, onboarding, professional development, coaching and performance evaluation of the CDLs

Ensuring optimal customer experience plans are developed, with campaign planning and execution across digital and non-digital channels

Sponsoring and pull through, in partnership with key stakeholders, of new capabilities and pilots/experiments

Partnering with key stakeholders on change management and pull through of new ways of working across all functions that impact a CAT

Capacity planning with regular focus on reallocating resources across teams as needed to support business priorities

Remaining abreast of evolving digital landscape and encouraging teams to experiment, test and learn (i.e. social media, video, and other channels)

Maintaining current understanding of relevant customer preferences – including relevant use of social media, video, and other channels

Remaining current on trends in agile methodology and execution and design thinking

Ensuring adherence to US legal, compliance regulatory standards.

Escalating and removing Business Unit or Enterprise-wide impediments that may be impeding on teams’ execution

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:  

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Advanced degree preferred.

Required Experience and Skills: 

Minimum of 7 years of digital marketing and/or brand marketing experience

Content and resource/campaign optimization across digital channels

Execution and results focused, focusing on most critical priorities, measuring progress and ensuring accountability against metrics

Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation to solve work problems and seize opportunities that result in unique solutions  

Building, motivating and guiding a team

Demonstration of significant initiative to generate, implement and execute on strategy and ideas

Building and applying knowledge of operations to improve team and drive organizational results

Clear and effective communicator

Using effective involvement and persuasion strategies to gain acceptance of ideas and commitment to actions that support specific work outcomes

Facilitating change by leading the implementation and acceptance of change; ability to manage ambiguity and to shift direction as needed to address emerging organizational needs

Developing strong cross-functional relationships and leverages the relationships to drive change and achieve results

Preferred Experiences:

Prior people management experience

Utilizes analytics to measure and optimize digital initiatives/campaigns
