Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept The PSU Center for Entrepreneurship is responsible for the creation, funding, and implementation of entrepreneurship and innovation programs for PSU students and other students in the State of Oregon : https://www.pdx.edu/entrepreneurship/

The signature state program is the InventOR, a high-visibility annual statewide collegiate invention competition serving 20+ campuses and ~300 students and running for the entire academic year, for which PSU is the managing entity. Other programs include the PSU’s Cleantech Challenge, Launch-in-9, Kickstart Weekend, The Cube, and other student entrepreneurship programs. Position Summary The Director of the PSU Center for Entrepreneurship (CE) will oversee and execute a suite of programs for PSU students and entrepreneurs, including workshops, bootcamps, mentors, software tools and programs, and shared resource management.

The Director will create and execute the operational plans for the CE and contribute to strategic direction for Propel PSU within Research and Graduate Studies, and be accountable for achievement of short-term operational objectives at the CE. The position includes coordination of the CE’s co-work facilities, managing the CE budget, and seeking additional resources for the CE through sponsorships and grant applications.


Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of entrepreneurship, and more specifically the Oregon entrepreneurship ecosystem. Experience creating and implementing entrepreneurship and invention programs for diverse populations of students from middle school through college. Excellent written and verbal skills. Experience managing a small team of full and part-time employees. Master’s degree and five or more years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and eight to ten years of relevant experience. Possession of a valid State-issued driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Experience with entrepreneurship or small businesses in diverse industries and environments, e.g. internationally and/or in more than one industry. Knowledge of and connection to college or university entrepreneurship departments and programs in Oregon. Multi-lingual proficiency. Work Days/Hours 40 hours per week, weekdays, with frequent evening networking and occasional weekends. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.

The starting annual salary for this position will be between $80,088 and $114,120, but may be negotiated above this range, dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
