What is the Opportunity?
As a Director, Cloud you will be the primary Delivery Lead within the Risk & Compliance and Control Automation functions, responsible for overseeing the management and resolution of Matters Requiring Attention (MRAs) for Cloud. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our cloud operations adhere to regulatory requirements and internal risk and compliance standards. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of program management, cloud technologies, risk management, and compliance frameworks. Additionally, you will develop a programmatic approach to delivering risk and compliance projects, control automation, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
What will you do?
Develop a programmatic approach to delivering risk and compliance projects, ensuring consistency, efficiency and long-term scalability.
Lead the identification, assessment, and resolution of MRAs/MRIAs related to cloud initiatives and collaborate with other programs to close non-cloud owned MRAs
Plan and execute projects/programs with a high level of complexity and uncertainty, including managing project scope, requirements change, multiple and competing demands, and priorities as well as determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk using appropriate fact-based metrics and assumptions.
Work with Business/Technology Owners and functional partners to ensure deliverables achieve the business result that enables value creation.
Facilitate joint planning with the client in the early stages of project formation.
Develop integrated baseline project plans applying estimated models; documents estimating assumptions, refines plans and manages performance against them.
Develop and implement action plans to address MRAs, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure MRAs are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Manages project communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc.
Provides senior management with timely updates on project issues. Identifies resources and skills required.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding MRAs in cloud risk and compliance.
Communicate effectively with senior management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to provide updates on MRA status and resolution efforts.
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on risk and compliance objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of risk and compliance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance within the cloud team.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of risk and compliance processes.
Work closely with the Control Engineering team to integrate control measures into cloud operations.
Prepare and present regular reports on MRA status, risk assessments, and compliance activities to senior management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all MRA-related activities and resolutions.
Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and internal audit requirements.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s degree or college level equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, Business Management or a related field.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, Change Management, etc)
Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, risk management, compliance, or a related field, with a focus on IT.
Proven experience in managing complex, multi-workstream, enterprise-wide IT transformation projects.
Advanced program management skills including program leadership, schedule management; change management, status management, risk, and issue management, financial and benefits management, stakeholder management.
Expert facilitation skills, able to keep teams focused and engaged, resolve conflict, and solve problems as a team.
Advanced time management skills, able to prioritize work for the greatest impact through effective decision making.
Proficient in key delivery tools including Planview, MS Project, Jira, Leankit, Confluence.
Bias for action, ownership, and an ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to drive work to completion under restrictive timelines.
Nice to Have:
An understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks related to cloud operations.
Relevant certifications in risk and compliance are a plus (e.g., PMP, Agile, CISSP, CISM, CRISC)
Relevant cloud certifications are a plus (ex. AWS Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, etc)
Experience with control frameworks (e.g., CSA, NIST, Custom) and/or Regulatory Audits.
An understanding of the complex, regulatory landscape for Financial Sector Institutions in Canada
An understanding of cloud and experience working with cloud technologies
