Responsible for driving the Commercial Bank’s use of the loan origination product along with the day-to-day execution, administration, and maintenance of the LOS. The individual will work to improve the product’s usability and employee engagement through process improvements, system enhancements, and user training. The position calls for significant collaboration with the Commercial Bank's various business units and will provide high visibility into all levels of the organization. Critical to this role is a background in loan underwriting and/or portfolio management.
Responsibilities:
You will serve as the subject matter expert within Commercial Administration regarding the intersection of i) Loan Underwriting and Portfolio Management processes and ii) the bank’s loan origination system (Sageworks)\You will predominantly partner with cross-functional teams within the Commercial Bank, Credit Risk organization, and Operations -- this role will support the Commercial Administration organization’s roadmap to scale the bank’s LOS platform and intake process to prioritize strategic requests; this entails leveraging knowledge of the practical considerations of underwriting and portfolio management processes.Providing oversight of the LOS team’s:Backlog of system modifications to drive increased process efficiencies and greater operational controlsInteractions with key partners in charge of underwriting, portfolio management, and loan onboarding - leveraging operational metrics and risk control reviewsInternal knowledge collateral such as user procedures, training material, and LOB engagement such as via user groupsMaintaining an in-depth knowledge of Webster Bank’s loan products, internal credit policy, and the organizational structure that underpins the bank’s origination and post-close management of loans.Ensure that quality of data, controls and processes performed meet internal policies and regulatory requirements/expectations.Educations, Skills & Experience:
Experience: At least 5 years of commercial banking experience, including front line roles in underwriting and/or portfolio managementEducation: Bachelor's degree; preferably in a business or information systems subject areaPrior experience with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC) and a commercial loan origination system is strongly preferredAbility to digest new business requirements and translate them into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteriaDemonstrated ability to mentor and coach team members to support their professional development and enhance team performance.Strong analytical and operational capabilities, with an ability to manage projects and timelines while effectively managing stakeholdersStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce high-quality, succinct deliverablesHighly collaborative, strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional team experience; ability to lead and influenceStrong competency in Microsoft Office suite -- including Excel and PowerPointThe estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 USD to $160,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
