Overview:

We are seeking a self-starting and experienced Creative Director to spearhead design efforts across Private Brands in Grocery, General Merchandise, and Fashion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in brand development and design. This Director will be responsible for leading external agency partners and building an internal team of senior designers and designers to create timeless omnichannel brand systems. The ideal candidate has experience designing brands in-house and with agencies using a blend of strong leadership and hands-on creative expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the creative vision for private label brand design, aligning with overall brand strategies and unique business objectives.Team management: Lead and mentor a team of brand designers providing guidance, feedback and support to foster creative excellence.Mentor, guide, and grow the team with optimism and enthusiasm, pursuing an award-winning in-house agency model.Conduct semi-annual or annual performance evaluations with the goal to up-level our creative output; consider skillsets such as: benchmarking, brand design, typography, packaging design, presentation design, creative/strategic alignment, workshopping, public speaking, and critical thinking.Identify new, competitive talent to add to the growing team.  Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, marketing, merchandising, production, and other key stakeholders to implement design systems that achieve broader business goals.Pursue ways that we can work better, faster.Manage team and projects that are on-brief and polished, mitigating feedback, ultimately keeping workstreams on track.Partner with Creative Account Management and Operations (CAMO) and Production to manage timelines and executions to concept breakthrough creative on schedule and on budget.Private Label Brand Innovation: Oversee the creation of sustainable, cutting-edge design systems that reflect the private label brand’s values, enhance market presence, and resonate with diverse audiences.Project Oversight: Manage high-profile design projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.Trend Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging design technologies including artificial intelligence, incorporating relevant trends into brand design strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, brand strategy, or a related field.10+ years of experience in brand design, with a proven track record of leadership and successful project management at a high-level.Proven track record of creating successful brand identities.Exceptional portfolio showcasing design process and strategic thinking.Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software including the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Slides, and Figma.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team.Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment leading brand design work in-house or agency side.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field and 7 years' experience leading creative teams OR 9 years' experience leading creative teams.
