The Director, Creative Services will be crucial in directing and executing high-quality creative content that aligns with Big Ten Network's distinct brand image. The Director will collaborate closely with marketing, digital, remote/studio production, and the art department to deliver materials across various platforms. Additionally, the Director sets the creative direction for the network and will lead a team of graphic designers to produce innovative content. This includes but is not limited to studio and remote production design, marketing materials, on-air, print, and digital concept art used by the organization to extend its distinct brand image.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct the execution of creative content within the design department, focusing on studio and remote production and marketingConceptualize and develop high-end content tailored to linear broadcast needs, ensuring alignment with brand standardsSet and maintain the creative direction, "look and feel," and style guidelines for all content producedLead and manage the development of creative concepts and materials that meet the internal needs of the organizationLead and manage the graphic design request process and prioritizing when neededReview and approve design concepts, providing feedback to designers to refine visuals and optimize impactOversee budget management for projects, including the evaluation, selection, and management of third-party resources such as agencies and production companiesReview and approve creative content to ensure quality standards and adherence to established guidelinesManage design elements of all championship production elementsCollaborate with the Graphics Implementation team, live event coordinating producers, and studio producers to make sure all graphics design requests are delivered in a timely mannerWHAT YOU WILL NEED
Proven experience in graphic design, preferably in a broadcast or media environmentStrong portfolio demonstrating creative skills and a comprehensive understanding of design principlesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross functionally across teamsExcellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational and project management skills are necessaryProficiency in the use of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.), Microsoft Office Applications, and digital production tools.Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of designers, fostering collaboration and creativityDemonstrated ability to meet strategic deadlines in a dynamic environmentStrong knowledge of VIZ RT platform; software includes Trio, Artist, Engine, Graphics Hub, Graphics Hub ManagerPossesses a deep knowledge of Big Ten AthleticsFamiliarity with Big Ten Network’s programming, talent, and brand initiativesAble to travel for some meetings, live sporting events, and/or media events throughout the yearAble to work a varying schedule including late nights and weekends as assigned, dependent upon event programming throughout the yearNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $121,500.00-168,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $101,200.00-140,000.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
