As part of the Enterprise Data Organization, the Director of Data Architecture & Engineering leads the design and implementation of the organization's data practices. They integrate data solutions, store, process, and analyze data while ensuring high standards of quality, security, and compliance. The lead collaborates with data architects and engineers to align technical strategies with business goals.   

What you will do here:

Data Architecture Leadership: Supervise the development and implementation of robust data architecture frameworks, ensuring scalability and performance to meet enterprise business requirements. Collaborate with key internal customers to develop the enterprise data architecture roadmap, aligning data initiatives with business strategy.

Business Value Creation: Participate in the creation and submission of business value cases to ensure data architecture considerations are aligned to strategic decisions.

Design & Integration: Participate in capacity planning efforts to assess current data infrastructure capabilities and forecast future data storage, processing, and retrieval needs. Design and manage data models and database architecture that support data ingestion, storage, and processing across various systems, ensuring seamless integration.

ETL Processes Oversight: Supervise the development and optimization of ETL processes and data pipelines, ensuring efficient data flow and transformation to support analytics and reporting needs.

Data Quality Assurance: Support ongoing performance monitoring of products and their submission for certification. Optimize data workflows and improve data accessibility, performance, and reliability. Establish and enforce data quality standards and best practices, monitoring data integrity and accuracy to support enterprise data initiatives.

Collaboration & Partner Engagement: Collaborate with data architecture team, and internal customers to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective data solutions.

Resourcing & Team Development: lead identification and resource allocation for delivery squads, as well as their role in design, development, deployment. Mentor a team of architects and engineers, fostering continuous improvement in data practices    

Skills Needed:

5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, and team leadership.

Degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Data architecture design, database management, and ETL processes.

Knowledge of data quality assurance practices and data governance frameworks.

Knowledge of data processing tools such as Hadoop or Spark, as well as programming languages commonly used for data analysis (e.g., Python, SQL).

Understanding standard methodologies for data security

Effective communication skills & collaborator management

Experience in leading data-related projects and managing multi-functional teams.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
