The CBRE Energy and Renewables team is seeking a Director, Data Centers and Energy Intensive Sectors to lead client engagements, business development, and drive new product development, particularly for data centers and energy-intensive organizations. We are looking for an energy markets expert who can deliver sophisticated services and innovate within a dynamic, start-up culture.
What You’ll Do:
+ Lead customer engagements pertaining to data centers and other energy intensive sectors; from initial education sessions through final contract execution.
+ Manage commercial negotiations and structuring between clients and developers; develop innovative structures and terms to create value and minimize risk for our clients.
+ Identify, develop, and execute new opportunities in energy and renewables markets, with special emphasis on energy intensive sectors.
+ Conduct business development related to data centers and other energy intensive organizations, including through customer prospecting, outreach, and in-person meetings; collaborate with the Business Development team to secure new clients for our services.
+ Build and nurture client relationships through networking, business development, and strategic outreach.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor and an extended team member for our data center clients and other large energy users, delivering tailored energy solutions aligned with their operational and sustainability goals.
+ Develop new services across primary business lines, including thermal, battery storage, renewable energy, backup power, price mitigation, and renewable natural gas (RNG).
+ Contribute to existing team engagements pertaining to community solar, distributed generation, and utility-scale renewables.
+ Identify emergent opportunities in innovative energy products, such as short-term hedging strategies, battery-specific hedges, and other opportunities leveraging energy market dynamics.
+ Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth and maximizing their contributions.
+ Partner with external consultants to deliver best-in-class advisory services.
What You’ll Need:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
+ 8+ years of experience in the energy or renewables industries.
+ Proven experience in energy, business development, and commercial structuring.
+ Strong understanding of energy markets and sustainability initiatives.
+ High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
+ Travel: Travel requirement up to 20%
+ Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Director, Data Centers and Energy Intensive Sectors is $190,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Director, Data Centers and Energy Intensive Sectors is $200,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program and Commision Plan. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
