By joining our team, you are helping to provide an experience to our stakeholders that delivers on our promises._ **Position Summary** Decision Science is a bridge that connect the advanced analytics and data science to various business functions to achieve top notch data-driven decision making. The Kemper Auto team has an immediate need for a talented Data Science leader. This individual is responsible for leading a team of decision scientists and resident data engineers to initiate and develop Analytical solutions to support data-driven decision making and maintaining strong partnership with data science and target business areas to accelerate adoption of analytical solutions through different maturity stages. Provides coaching and mentoring to junior analysts in the data analytics community. **Position Responsibilities:** + Leads cross functional collaboration with data science, data engineering and business partners to explore, initiate and design analytical solutions to various business problems. + Supervises a diverse team of data scientists, decision scientists and data engineers to develop, prototype, and implement analytical solutions, including data analysis and data visualization, to support the organization’s objectives. + Presents analytical insights, results, and suggests business recommendations to external business partners and senior leadership teams. + Communicates priorities and challenges to data engineering and technology partners and maintains the health and effectiveness of analytical tools in the portfolio. + Leads, attracts, and develops a high performing analytic team, including coaching, mentoring, and recruiting junior decision scientists. Leads training sessions on statistical analysis, data visualization and business analytics. **Position Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or other STEM fields with 10+ years’ experience in insurance industry or related industry in a data science/predictive environment. + Experience in Insurance Product Management is a plus + 4+ years of proven experience leading an analytic team. + At least 10 years of firsthand experience with Business intelligence, Data Engineering, Programming (SQL, Python) and statistical analysis. + Proficiency in Power BI is required + Exposures to Predictive Modeling and various AI/ML platforms is beneficial. _Kemper is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
