About the role
Elsevier has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Editorial and Brand Content to join our fast-paced, dynamic, global marketing team and drive change and innovation.
In this role, you will be at the heart of our content strategy, shaping engaging and impactful narratives that strengthen our brand presence. You will lead content development for Elsevier Creative, our internal agency, ensuring that every project and campaign aligns with our brand positioning and messaging.
Your work will be instrumental in bringing Elsevier’s mission to life, crafting compelling stories that connect with our audiences and reinforce our role in advancing human progress. You will also oversee the editorial strategy and content creation process, ensuring that all content is high-quality, accurate, and consistent with our brand voice and guidelines.

Main Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a strong and consistent brand voice across all communication channels.Create compelling and persuasive copy for various marketing materials, including ads, marketing collateral, website content, social media posts, and emails.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and product, to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and strategies.Conduct thorough research to understand the target audience, industry trends, and product features, and use this knowledge to tailor messaging and content accordingly.Oversee the entire content creation process, from brainstorming and ideation to writing, editing, and proofreading.Edit and review content created by other team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.Monitor and analyse content performance using relevant metrics and tools and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.Manage a team of writers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality content within deadlines.Collaborate within the Creative team, sharing ideas, best practices, problem-solving, and participating in developing project briefs.Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the effectiveness and impact of our content.Knowledge & Experience
Minimum five years’ experience in a senior editorial/copywriter role.Proven experience as a copywriter, content creator, or similar role, preferably within a marketing or advertising agency.A portfolio of previous work demonstrating exceptional copywriting skills and experience creating content for various channels and audiences.Degree (or equivalent) in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.Proficiency in using content management systems, digital marketing tools, and analytics platforms.Experience managing a team of writers or overseeing the content creation process is preferred.Core Competencies
