Position Overview
The Director of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) is responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and compliance of the EVV processes; ensuring accurate data collection for all services requiring EVV and maintaining adherence to all state and federal regulations related to electronic visit verification.
The Director of Electronic Visit Verification is responsible for implementing and supporting the strategic vision for assigned EVV functions within the Reimbursement Services. Providing direction for Operational, administrative, financial and managerial functions relative to EVV and the reimbursement of services requiring EVV.
The Director of EVV serves as the leader of EVV for the system to internal and external organizations including government agencies, payor organizations, external auditors, and business partners.
Essential Job Functions
Work with the RCM team and executive leadership to develop, implement, and oversee effective and consistent operational policies, processes, tools, and educational materials within all billing and collection functions that are impacted by EVV.
Support and manage the operational performance and productivity of all EVV related activities against pre-defined policies and KPI goals/targets.
Work with supporting management staff to identify and track EVV issues and trends (both internal and external); communicate issues/trends to Revenue Cycle leadership and assist in developing actionable solutions.
Develop and maintain “super user” capabilities in the primary EMR system, 3rd Party EVV system, aggregator portals and applications, and all other related information systems, tools, technologies, and processes; assist other employees as needed to ensure all tools are fully utilized to create an efficient and effective department.
Coordinates with the Billing and Collection Managers to provide education, troubleshooting and training related to EVV processes, procedures and workflow.
Completes annual performance reviews for employees in conjunction with management/supervisory staff and ensures that they receive timely feedback and performance/quality and training issues as appropriate.
Completes disciplinary action as required.
Creates a work environment for employees through team building, coaching, constructive feedback, work delegation, personal example and goal setting that encourage creativity, open dialogue on work issues, professional growth, and a consistent, high level of performance; encourage and supports employee decision-making within his or her scope of responsibilities.
Monitor and facilitate service level agreements (SLAs) between EVV and other related functions within both Revenue Cycle and Clinical operations.
Manage relationships with payer representatives, vendors, and all other third-party organizations involved in EVV functions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or 5 – 7 years of related Revenue Cycle experience, preferably within Billing.
Revenue Cycle operations management, consulting, and/or project management experience for a minimum of 8 years.
Experience of being a leader or member of a Revenue Cycle transformation effort where key functions were reviewed for standardization and centralization.
Experience with Electronic Visit Verification in a Home HealthCare or other HealthCare organization preferred.
Must be able to provide strategic leadership, work with all levels of stakeholders and provide the best outcomes possible.
Must have sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
