POSITION SUMMARY
Abiding by St Joseph’s Health Mission and Core Values, the Director for Emergency Services is responsible for the planning, priority setting, coordination, implementation and evaluation of programs of patient care. The Director assumes operational responsibility for the overall management of human, fiscal and material resources as well as the integration of the Patient Care Services into the primary function of the organization. Represents the Division of Patient Care Services in the planning of multidisciplinary or interdepartmental programs as they relate to programs. Participates with other Program and Department Directors in policy development and strategic planning for St. Joseph’s Health. Demonstrates the organization’s commitment to sound ethical business practices as directed by the Corporate Compliance Office and approved by the Board of Trustees.
Our Emergency Services Department is a state of the art facility consisting of a large emergency room suite and ED Observation Unit. Our goal is to provide consistent, excellent and timely care to all patients.
Our Emergency Services Program is a fast-paced team of interdisciplinary professionals ready to promote and restore health to all who enter. Divided into four major zones with waiting area, registration area and triage area, we efficiently provide care for all specialties and all ages. Our call ahead program is the first in this area to provide an opportunity for scheduled evaluation times. The Emergency Department offers RN’s the opportunity for a wide variety of patient experiences from minor injuries in our Speed Unit, to Cardiac Arrest and Trauma.
ED Observation is a 15-bed Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. Fast paced unit with a typical 24-48 hour length of stay. Our specialties include chest pain, syncope, r/o TIA, CHF, pre and post-operative surgical patients, and medical conditions requiring observation stays.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in an appropriate discipline with a minimum of five years progressive experience in the field. Ideally, the candidate will have experience at the manager level to be considered for the Directors position.Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.Maintains current BLS/CPR certification.Participates in orientation, annual competencies, continuing education, updates, and maintains knowledge/skills related to specific areas of expertise as applicable.MISSION STATEMENT:

Annual Pay Range: $121,160 - $181,792
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
