This position would require a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week onsite and 2 days remote out of our Brentwood, TN office location.
The Director, Energy Management provides primary leadership in managing utility related activities and for developing energy strategies that include energy efficiency projects and improvements in operational and maintenance practices across all facilities.
Monitors energy consumption; oversees the development of consumption reports to monitor facilities utility consumption. Participates as an auditor in the corporate energy reduction program.Makes recommendations for energy conservation and implements projects that will result in the reduction of energy use dealing with electricity, natural gas, propane, and water. Recommends or makes modifications to mechanical and electrical systems.Reviews proposed maintenance and renovation projects for energy efficiency; provides recommendations for maintenance, renovations and new construction projects relative to energy use.Oversees implementation of Energy Cost Saving Measures (ECM's) as proposed by Performance Contractors.Provides forecasting of future utility use for multi-year budgeting. Partners with energy providers to secure favorable supply side agreements. Resolves utility and energy service provider issues.Conducts facility condition assessments and energy audits. Oversees ongoing review of facilities to identify cost reducing measures from implementation of energy efficiency initiatives. Coordinates with field operations to resolve mechanical problems affecting energy efficiency and consumption.Implements and maintains utility tracking database systems. Tracks and assesses CoreCivic's greenhouse gas emissions profile, as well as other sustainability metrics that relate to utilities consumption.Analyzes trends and identifies causes of energy overages and opportunities for savings.Provides technical and professional support regarding applicable energy consumption and reduction throughout the corporation and ensures regulatory and company compliance via established auditing processes and risk analysis.Leads energy assessment/monitoring activities including data gathering of current baseline status and ongoing monitoring programs.Domestic U.S. travel may be required.Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related field is required.Four years of experience in progressive energy engineering is required. Additional years of related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Extensive knowledge of commercial and industrial energy engineering, utility cost analysis, life-cycle cost analysis and facility management is required. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and direct the activities of others towards the accomplishment of goals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications is required.
