Reporting to the General Manager the Director, Engineering role will be In charge of oversees the activities related to the technical support and process development engineering functions of a manufacturing area. Plans and implements the development of new and scale-up process formulas. Establishes operating equipment specifications and acts as a liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible. Directs efforts to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
What a typical day looks like:
Direct and control the activities of a broad functional area through several senior Manufacture engineering managers involved in activities related to process engineering capabilities and statistical process control systems.Organize and guide Project/Program reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications.Partner with other functional managers to ensure manufacture-engineering activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations.Provide guidance and feedback to subordinate managers to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.Plan, budget, and manage the Manufacture Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance and NPI group costs in line with corporate objectives.Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.Develop, modify, and implement company policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have company-wide effect.Regularly interact with executives and/or major customers in controversial situations, contract negotiations or other matters for which influence skills are required.The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 8 years of management experience and 5 years in a similar role.Must have experience around automation deployment and maintenance with strong grip on problem solvingMust be able to work with customer and 3rd party automation supplier in streamlining and fixing automation related challenges Must have good leadership experience to energize, motivate and drive engineering teams and support them in problem solvingMust be a data driven person with proficient understanding of metrics like MTBF, MTTR, Cpk, GR&R and moreMust have a black belt or green beltWhat you’ll receive for the great work you provide:
