Job Summary
The Director of Engineering Project Management will guide and oversee the successful execution of major construction and automation projects across NAPA's supply chain facilities. This role focuses on managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure seamless project delivery and activation, reinforcing our commitment to the future supply chain and operational excellence.The Director will play a critical role in managing the full project lifecycle of large-scale construction projects. This position involves coordinating with vendors, internal & external cross-functional teams, managing contractor relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our supply chain infrastructure.The Director will lead a group of Project Managers based on-site during major project build-out.
Responsibilities
Project Timeline and Budget Management:
Work closely to track and report project progress & budget, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
Utilize project management tools to maintain comprehensive project documentation and status reports.
Own detail scheduling to ensure compliance with overall project schedule.
Automation System Design and Implementation:
Lead thecompany liaison roles for vendor, construction and contractor management, ensuring all contractors meet project requirements and standards.
Work closely with the site Engineers to be responsible party (site owner) on site for major activations
On-Site Activation Leadership:
Lead, coach and mentor the primary NAPA responsible parties on site for major project activations, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to project plans.
Own the detailed project plan
Lead interference control and remediation during activations. Coordinate resolution of trade conflicts on-site.
Lead cross-functional activities to facilitate project execution and activation, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Lead regulatory reviews, site visits and permitting coordination.
Regulatory Compliance and Permitting:
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
Manage the permitting process and serve as the principal NAPA contact for permitting requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or an approved equivalent field.
8+ years of experience leading large-scale construction projects, preferably within a supply chain or industrial setting.
Proficiency in project management software such as MS project, Smartsheet, Monday, etc.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with contractors and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification
Demonstrated experience in managing projects through all phases from planning to activation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Physical Demands / Working Environment
Workperformed in warehouse and construction environments.
Ability to travel as needed from site to site, up to 80%.
