Job Description:

Director, Engineering Services

Direct the operations of the Facilities Management Division which includes the following departments: Facilities Management, Plant Engineering, and Biomed Engineering. Responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the facilities management functions of the hospital. Provide construction management for hospital projects from concept to occupancy.

Job Duties:

Develops and manages expense and capital budgets for division and assists with budget planning for other departments within the enterprise.Regularly inspects buildings and grounds to assure conformance with established standards and regulations; evaluates conditions and needs and takes corrective measures as required.Administers construction contracts and monitors specifications. Communicates with local and state agencies to obtain necessary permits and certificates of occupancy.Responsible for safety at all locations within the enterprise. Chairs the Environment of Care Safety Committee.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, facilities management or another related field is required.10 years of professional/management experience in facility management or related area with at least 5 years in healthcare.Working knowledge of facility plant maintenance and operations at a level typically associated with a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM).Knowledge and understanding of building and health care codes, as adopted by the various jurisdictions and regulatory agencies, with the ability to research, interpret and apply to projects, plant and facilities.Strong leadership skills detailed oriented; proficient in written and oral presentation skills; proficient in financial analysis skills; proficient in problem solving skills; and lead independently on multiple projects in a fast -paced environment.A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the stated educational and/or experience requirements, provided the combination demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the role.

Preferred Requirements

Master's degree or higher, is preferred.Licensure as Professional Architect or Engineer is strongly preferred.
